RESOLVED (UNANIMOUS): that the minutes of the meeting held on 19 January 2016 be approved as a correct record and signed by the chairman.

46 Application to Renew Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence: Mr Gregory

An application for the renewal of a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence for a Toyota Avensis (registration number YS08 AJX) was submitted. The committee noted that the vehicle did not meet the council?s policy on vehicle age limits.

The applicant, Mr Gregory, attended the meeting and addressed the committee.

During the course of the meeting, the Internal Audit Officer circulated a copy of the background papers relating to the vehicle some of these being photographs of the vehicle; MOT certificates; bill of sale; previous owners? service records for the vehicle etc.

The meeting was adjourned at 6.15pm to allow members of the committee an opportunity to inspect the vehicle.

The meeting resumed at 6.18pm.

RESOLVED ((UNANIMOUS): that Mr Gregory?s application to renew the Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence for his Toyota Avensis (registration number YS08 AJX) be refused under the council?s policy on vehicle age limits.

(Mr Gregory was informed of his right of appeal to the Magistrates Court.)
