Application for Private Hire Vehicle Licences: Mr and Mrs Holland Further to minute no. 56 (14 April 2015), report attached Appendix A attached Appendix B attached An application for private hire vehicle licences for a silver Chrysler 300C (registration KP07 WXB) and a black Chrysler 300C (registration MA07 DXR) was resubmitted. The applicants, Mr and Mrs Holland, attended the meeting and addressed the committee. In accordance with the council?s existing vehicle age limit policy, the vehicle was too old to continue to be licensed as Private Hire Vehicles. The meeting was adjourned at 6.14pm to allow members of the committee an opportunity to inspect the vehicles. The meeting resumed at 6.19pm. RESOLVED (6 FOR, 3 ABSTAINED): that ? (i) in the light of the nature and type of work the executive style vehicles are used for, Mr and Mrs Holland?s application to renew their Private Hire Vehicle Licences (silver Chrysler 300C (registration KP07 WXB) and a black Chrysler 300C (registration MA07 DXR)) be granted for a further 2 years?(from 1 September 2015 to 1 September 2017) under exceptional circumstances and subject to (ii) below; (ii) the vehicles continue to undergo the stringent roadworthiness test every six months; and (iii) the committee?s decision of 11 December 2007 (minute no. 30 refers) to allow Mr and Mrs Holland to waive the requirement to display external private hire vehicle licence plates and other markings on the above vehicles be reaffirmed. |

Application for Exemption to Display Private Hire Vehicle Licence Plate: Mr Smith Further to minute no. 57 (14 April 2015), report attached Appendix 1 attached A request to waive the requirement to display the private hire vehicle licence plate and other associated markings on a BMW 520d SE (registration LG11 YHJ) was submitted. The applicant, Mr Smith, attended the meeting and addressed the committee. The meeting was adjourned at 6.46pm to allow members of the committee an opportunity to inspect the vehicle. The meeting resumed at 6.51pm. RESOLVED (UNANIMOUS): that Mr Smith?s request to waive the requirement to display private hire vehicle licence plates on the BMW 520d SE (registration LG11 YHJ), be granted subject to the following ? 1. The private hire driver's badge must be worn by the driver of the vehicle at all times. |
