3 Nomination and Election of the Mayor for 2015/16, Councillor Mary Green

It was PROPOSED by Councillor Ogilvie and SECONDED by Councillor Yates that Councillor Mrs Mary Green be elected Mayor of South Ribble for the municipal year 2015/16.

RESOLVED (UNANIMOUSLY): that Councillor Mrs Mary Green be elected Mayor of South Ribble for the municipal year 2015/16.

Councillor Mrs Mary Green and Mr Anthony Green were presented with their chains of office by the retiring Mayor, Councillor Graham Walton.

Councillor Mrs Mary Green signed her declaration of acceptance of office and took the chair.

The Mayor appointed Father Jonathan Cotton as her chaplain for her year of office and then addressed the Council.

4 Vote of Thanks to the Retiring Mayor, Councillor Graham Walton

It was PROPOSED by Councillor Marsh and SECONDED by Councillor Yates that a vote of thanks be placed on record to Councillor Walton for his services during his Mayoral year.

RESOLVED (UNANIMOUSLY): that a vote of thanks to the retiring Mayor be placed on record in recognition of the Council?s appreciation for his services during his year of office.

Councillor Graham Walton responded to the vote of thanks.

5 Presentation of Commemorative Badges and Album to the Retiring Mayor and Mayoress

The Mayor presented commemorative badges and album to Councillors G Walton and Mrs Karen Walton to commemorate their year of office.

6 Nomination and Election of the Deputy Mayor for 2015/16, Councillor Linda Woollard

It was PROPOSED by Councillor Mrs Noblet and SECONDED by Councillor Hughes that Councillor Mrs Woollard be elected Deputy Mayor of South Ribble for the municipal year 2015/16.

RESOLVED (UNANIMOUSLY): that Councillor Mrs Woollard be elected Deputy Mayor of South Ribble for the municipal year 2015/16.

Councillor Mrs Woollard and Mr Woollard were presented with their chains of office by the Mayor.

The Deputy Mayor addressed the Council.
